Here are some feedback comments from guitar teachers around the UK.
Jonathan Race - Guitar Teacher for Oxford County Music Service
"...I just got your book in the post this morning and feel compelled to write to you immediately. This book (and CD) is FANTASTIC! I looked through and thought 'yes, a much more logical approach to reading' in that you start with the note A and work upwards. Then I flicked through and looked at some of your first position pentatonic pieces - much like my own, pupils can learn to read more easily within the limited framework of the pentatonic scale and it sounds more like rock music, which is what they're after, not 'Skip to My Lou'!
Then I put the CD in and was blown away. The songs are fantastic - light years ahead of what any other tutor book (and most guitar teachers) can offer. The big problem, as you've obviously identified is that beginners have a very limited choice of real songs to learn as most are too difficult for the first couple of years (particularly for school children). And learning from an exercise book is so boring - no real context. I can see your book being a massive hit - you've actually had the guts to sing your own songs, cleverly written so they introduce ideas progressively, and I think kids (and adults) will really appreciate it..."

I think it's really excellent, a lot of time and effort has gone into it. I particularly like the clear and concise explanations and examples, it's well laid out and planned. I will difinitely be using it, so expect orders.

Many thanks for the excellent teaching tool...it is very helpful to arrange material from easy to hard logical and in a guitar orientated way such as started with the open power chords. The real songs are also very helpful to put things in context.

I like the book a lot. It covers a lot of similar things to other tutor books but with quite a lot of additional and useful information that a lot of other books leave out. I like the fact that it combines standard notation as well as TAB, (as most books seem to be either just notation or just TAB) and it is not full of childish tunes which I find a lot of teenage beginners are put off by. I was delighted to see that you use the 'proper' English names for note values too, (semibreve, minim, crotchet, etc) rather than the American whole note, half note, quarter note, etc!

The book is great. I like the way you have integrated all the different contemporary elements of guitar playing with an emphasis on reading music. I also like the you are playing and reading riffs so early on in the book. I've not seen this done so well before.
Lisa S - Guitar teacher
It's really well laid out and the tracks are good, good job!
